I like the idea of public financing – maybe a partial match based on the inverse of the average donation size (which would provide an incentive to get more small donation and fewer large ones). Unfortunately, […]

I’m not missing your point at all. I fully understand your position, why you’re taking it and how you’re vomiting this straw man BS about what I’m saying.
Full equality is my “full objective”. As I’ve said […]

Although I’ve disagreed with some details of their work over the years, I’m generally a fan of the work that United Republic and Lawrence Lessig (among others) do on the issue of money in politics. They’ve […]

Over the past week, there has been much discussion about the separation of church and state. Last week, North Carolina saw a proposal to allow the state to declare an official religion. Yesterday, Forbes […]

You’re so fun… no leg to stand on, so you keep spinning these childish little webs of make believe. Such an intellectual coward you are…

Well, look what I found in the spam box. No surprise our old flamer Jake here is pegged as a spammer by the security plugins I have here.

Boy, Rand Paul is sure killing it lately. I disagree with quite a bit of what he believes, but the media seems to be eating whatever he says alive, and he has been dropping some bombs that really hit home.

Aye, Simpson-Bowles has largely laid out the ground work for a serious solution. It doesn’t have to be Simpson-Bowles necessarily, but it already exists. The problem is that SB won’t gain serious traction in […]

Finally, the Senate passes a budget, the first in four years. It barely passed too! And, it has no chance of passing the House of Representatives. Several Democrats crossed party lines to vote against it. […]
